Summer Fun

Smile. It's almost officially summer. Aren't many of your favorite childhood memories from those long summer days? What are you doing to make those fun childhood memories for your littles? Disney Land, Sea World, Lake Powell? Big vacations equal big fun, right? Great, that's all great, but don't forget to take time for the little things. Think about the things that you remember most as a little child. What made you happy? What made you smile? Popsicles, Kool-Aid, running through the sprinklers?

Last night we popped some popcorn and sat and watched a movie together (first time ever that I've watched an entire movie with my kids) and it was a lot of fun. I think I need to do that more often. Do you have a favorite, fun, simple little thing that you do with your kids that's creating those fun summer memories?

Nats I would love for you to post my book if you feel like it is something that people would be interested in. Totally easy to put together. I like to make things simple so that people know they can do things that might sometimes seem out of their element. Thanks for your comment on my blog...you are so sweet and I am grateful for your friendship also. You are one of those friends that I could not see for years (which it has been) and we would still pick up and be as silly as the last time we saw each other. You are wonderful!!!

P.S. My favorite thing to do with my very young children in the summer, is buy one of those 400 pack of Water balloons and fill up a whole bunch each day and just let them throw them around. they love it and it is cheap and easy...I think this is an activity for all ages but my little ones love it.
We are also trying to make it to the communtiy pool once a week...a chance to get out and have some fun in the sun.
Oh and one other thing. A group of us mom's are just meeting at the park one day a week for a picnic and a park day...another day out and a chance to mingle for mom's and kids.

One of our most favorite things to do during the warm summer nights is go to the drive-inn movie. We can sit outside in the fresh Montana air and eat popcorn and watch a movie as a family. We just love it!

Water balloons...I think my kids would love that too. Getting some today!

We all could use some mommy time, why not in the park when the kids are having fun too. Nice.

Swimming...what kid doesn't love swimming.

You seem to have it all worked out. What a good mom you are.

Ten, you're making me jealous talking about that fresh Montana air. I miss that. I didn't know drive in movies still existed. Lucky!

I loved gardening with my kids and have tried to pass that on to my little ones. They each have their own pot to take care of and they love looking after their flowers each day. They also help my husband and I in the vegetable garden and I'm surprised at all the healthy things they will eat when they've had a part in growing them!

Plus, watering the garden with the hose always turns into a romp through the sprinklers on hot days. There is nothing better...

Thanks for a great blog! I look forward to checking in often...

During the summer we try to go to the public library more often. My kids are all pretty young-but it is never too early to instill the love of reading. Plus, most public library have activity hours & readings for small children. Mine love it!
